Do you ever just sit staring at something for twenty minutes and will it to move? If only it could just move a couple of feet and be perfectly in reach…
This is a daily occurrence in my life:
Come on pillow! Scooch over!
Alright now remote - come here!
That’s it phone. Just levitate to me!
The problem with me (I think) is that growing up, I was led to believe I was perfect.
As the years passed, in my head, it became less of a compliment and more of a requirement- a standard.
Now, more and more I’m forced to see that I am not perfect. I am not perfect, and yet I still believe…
No one is perfect. If everyone was perfect, the world be boring and no one would have goals. Striving for A+ grades and admittance into honors societies are great goals but if they aren’t achieved, it doesn’t make you a bad person. There is something special about you. It might not be A+ grades, but it is something that you do extraordinarily well. You should find that thing that sets you apart and every time you don’t reach your goal, use that unique thing to boost you up and help you achieve it the next time.
I wanted to cry, He’s in an entirely new world and understands nothing of it ,but look at how proud he is when he gets something.

*clears throat and pulls out binder labeled The Sound of Music Explained*
Captain von Trapp is used to calling the shots around his house. Now, Maria has come into his house and blatantly disobeyed his orders, taking authority for herself. He, seeing now that she has this authority, has subconsciously recognized it and blurts out the line in question because he’s flustered and angry
and distracted by a soaking wet nun.
That’s why she makes that face. She knows she’s gaining something here, she’s got some serious respect from the man who was originally going to summon her via whistle. Now they both know that she knows that they are on a level playing field and that he is actually listening to what she is saying he just doesn’t want to hear it.
*puts away binder and dusts hands* Thank you and good night.
